Security Information Center official denied reports by western media and newspapers that Egyptian police arrested the Italian student Giulio Regeni shortly before his death. The Italian investigation team into Giulio Regeni’s killing stated that what has been published in Italian press is quoted from some western newspapers.
Security Information Center official stressed that some western newspapers have published completely false news on conditions of his disappearance and that the investigation team into circumstances of his disappearance is working extensively in full collaboration with the Italian party. The outcome of the ongoing probe will be made public once there is solid information, the official added.
